Bescot TMD, located by Walsall in the West Midlands, has gone through quite a transition over the years. In the late 1980's I started visiting usually most Saturday's. Sitting on the line between Birmingham New Street and Walsall, for those driving there is a car park just 5 minutes away from the station. The Depot building is located opposite Bescot station always had various motive power sitting outside, with a fuelling point on the side, there was always movement even on a Saturday. On the left side looking down into the rather vast yard locomotives were stabled on the side at the weekends, mostly empty during the week. I will post some visits below so that you can see what a varied variety of locomotives used to be there. These days it seems to be the Class 66 that is the mainstay of power there, although there can be 56's and 70's around, although that is only what I see from the motorway as pass on my way to work.
